    Bailey is the author of two text books on Leadership development. In May , he and Eric H. Kessler published the Handbook of Organizational and Managerial Wisdom. Later that year, Bailey joined Stewart R. Clegg in publishing the International Encyclopedia of Organization Studies. At the heart of an organization is a vision and core set of values. That vision and those values help shape the organization’s mission, which, in turn, informs its program strategies, systems and structures. An organization’s effectiveness depends on a shared understanding of, and commitment to, the vision, values and mission.

      The ancient virtue of practical wisdom has lately been enjoying a remarkable renaissance in management literature. The purpose of this article is to add clarity and bring synergy to the interdisciplinary debate. In a review of the wide-ranging field of the existing literature from a philosophical, theological, psychological, and managerial perspective, we show that, although different in terms. This special issue comprises select papers from the Eastern Academy of Management Conference with the theme of Organizational Wisdom: Human, Managerial, and Strategic Implications.
